The Idea
August Berghaus, a leading manufacturer of broaching tools in Germany needs numerous operating resources in its production, such as dressing rolls, dressing plates and diverse grinding disks. These resources are often ordered for a specific customer order. An overview of the existing and required resources is therefore indispensable. Especially the monitoring of the resource's current state of wear is important to ensure replacement in due time. The easy and simple handling of the database and the recording of the rate of wear in the production is of equal importance. Moreover, the existing information should be available to other processes, such as the ordering of resources.
The Solution
Based on the latest Microsoft .NET technology, REITEC developed a comprehensive solution in several iteration steps and in close cooperation with the responsible employees at August Berghaus that provides for the management of the company's operating resources. The tools are registered with all their geometric properties such as the diameter, the profile thickness and other information such as the profile number, th eprice, the manufacturer or even the CAD data. The user can search operating resources per scanner or, alternatively, via any of the available features, such as the outside diameter. When an operating resource is returned, the current wear rate is determined with the help of the integrated formula interpreter and indicated as a status value. Specific formulae are implemented for the different operating resources. After setting up an operating resource, a purchase requisition can be sent per mail directly to the purchasingdepartment. The CAD files required for ordering are automatically attached to the mail. For the users in the production and in the technical departments, different functions are available. The user-interfaces are individually matched to the different access rights.
